Our char siu chicken thighs with asian slaw is certain to be a family favourite round the dinner table! The char siu sauce provides a lovely sweet sticky coating for the chicken, while the oyster sauce adds a hit of umami.
Preheat the oven to 190C/ 170C fan/ gas 5 and roast the marinated chicken for 15 minutes. Then turn the meat and roast for another 10 minutes on the other side. Check the chicken is cooked by piercing the thickest part with a skewer and the juices should run clear.
Brush on the remaining marinate. Turn off the oven and leave the chicken inside to rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Combine the slaw vegetables in a large mixing bowl.
Put all the dressing ingredients in a jar and shake well. Pour over the slaw and mix well before serving.
