Roasted Watermelon with Hoisin Sauce and Soft Goat's Cheese By Danny Jansen

A creation from TV Chef Danny Jansen is sure to delight your guests at the start of the meal. Watermelon is a great palate cleanser and is a very light bite, so it's ideal to serve before your main meal.

Ingredients

½ watermelon, preferably without seeds
200g soft goat’s cheese

Garnish

Chervil

Method

1 Cut the watermelon into slices about 15mm thick.
2 Grill the watermelon on a grill pan for about 5 minutes or until it has nice grill marks.
3 Cut the grilled watermelon into cubes about 4x4cm.
4 Cut the cheese into small pieces and place it on top of the grilled watermelon.
5 Add garnish and serve with hoisin sauce.

Tips

1 It is also delicious to roast the soft goat’s cheese, for example with a crème brûlée burner.
