Here we have the perfect sweet to end any meal, that anyone can enjoy. Succulent roasted apples topped off with creamy vanilla ice cream, what more could you want? Don't be afraid to use pears instead of apples if you prefer.
Wash the apples. Using an apple corer, scoop out a thumb-sized hole.
Mix the nuts, raisins, sugar, Plum Sauce and cinnamon in a bowl and add
half the melted butter. Stir well.
Place apples into an oven tray lined with baking paper. Stuff them with the
butter-nut-raisin mixture and then pour the rest of the butter over the top.
Put the dish on the lowest rack of a preheated oven (180°C/160Cfan/gas 4)and bake for 30-35 min until the top is golden brown.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Tips
Pears can be a replacement for the apples - just extend the cooking time by 15 minutes.
