Heat the oil in a small pan, add the onion and cook over a medium heat until just softened. Cool a little, then add the minced chicken with the Char Siu Sauce , breadcrumbs and ginger. Mix well, then shape into balls and set aside.
Heat enough oil to deep-fry and when hot, carefully lower chicken balls into the oil and cook until golden and crisp.
Mix together the dipping sauce and serve with the meatballs.
